Commercial video production for Aberdeen

Aberdeen is built from grey granite and faces the North Sea, and much of its working life has followed that sea, from fishing and shipbuilding to oil, gas and now offshore wind. Notlith makes commercial films for businesses here remotely, starting from your photographs, drawings and brand material, then adding creative direction, AI-assisted imagery, editing, colour and sound.

The Granite City and its harbour

Granite from local quarries such as Rubislaw gave the city its nickname and its streets, from Union Street to Marischal College, now the headquarters of the city council. Old Aberdeen, around King's College, keeps a separate, quieter character, while the fishing cottages of Footdee sit in their squares at the mouth of the harbour.

The harbour still shapes the economy. Supply vessels serve the North Sea, ferries leave for Orkney and Shetland, and engineering firms in Dyce, Altens and Westhill work on energy projects at sea. Alongside them are hospitality businesses, food and drink producers, independent shops, property agents and professional services across the city and Aberdeenshire.

Why a remote, hybrid approach can suit Aberdeen

A good deal of what north-east companies sell is hard to film: equipment that works offshore, facilities behind security fences, products that need to look right in every frame. We build films from the material you can release, and every generated movement is checked against your references before you see it. When a mechanism, a label or a room changes shape, the shot is replaced.

We have no Aberdeen office and send no crew. Interviews, live events and documentary work need a camera on the day, and local crews exist for that. When a shoot is the honest answer, we say so, and we can edit footage another team has captured.

Local references, used with care

Granite, the harbour or a Doric phrase can belong in a film when they are true to your business and approved by you. Landmarks come from licensed photography, never generated behind your product. Origin claims, accreditations and service areas come from your own documents rather than from a postcode.

Each project begins with a short treatment and continues through drafts at agreed stages. Formats for web, social and exhibition screens, language versions and the usage of delivered files are written into the quote before production starts.

Working with us from Aberdeen

Which services do you offer to Aberdeen businesses?

Corporate and recruitment films, product films, social video ads, hotel, restaurant and property videos, venue and shop films, event promotion and AI-assisted advertising films, each scoped around your material.

Can you work with energy and engineering companies?

Yes, from cleared photographs, drawings and approved claims. We go through your supplier onboarding and confidentiality requirements, and your technical and HSE reviewers approve the sensitive shots.

Do you work with businesses elsewhere in Aberdeenshire?

Yes. Production is remote, so a business in Stonehaven, Inverurie, Ellon or Banchory follows the same process as one in the city centre.

What should we send first?

Your objective, the audience, where the film will run and a selection of current photographs. We review the material before proposing a sequence.
