Video production company for Aberdeen: a remote studio that fits your procurement

Commissioning video in Aberdeen often starts with procurement rather than creative ideas: supplier forms, confidentiality agreements, insurance questions and approval chains that reach Houston, Stavanger or a head office in London. Notlith is a remote hybrid studio. We handle direction, script, AI-assisted imagery, editing, colour and sound from your material, and we are open about which projects suit that model and which do not.

Getting through supplier onboarding

Energy and engineering companies usually need a new supplier registered before work can begin. We can provide company details, sign a non-disclosure agreement and describe how files are stored and shared. Because no one attends your site, site inductions and offshore certificates are not part of our scope.

Tell us early which approvals the film will need: communications, legal, HSE, the client whose asset appears. That list shapes the schedule more than the editing does, particularly when one approver sits in another time zone or rotates offshore for weeks at a time. We build review rounds around it rather than discovering a new approver at the final draft.

Crew or remote studio?

Aberdeen has local camera operators and production companies who can film interviews, events and operations. If your story needs a person speaking, a live process or a real location, they are the right choice, and we will say so.

Our model fits when the subject can be photographed or drawn: a product, an interior, a process explained through diagrams, a campaign built from brand assets. It also fits when access is the obstacle, for example when the equipment sits offshore or the facility is confidential. Some projects combine both, with a local crew capturing interviews and our studio building the surrounding sequences.

One master, several markets

North-east firms often sell into other energy regions, from the Norwegian sector to the Gulf. A film for those buyers may need different units, terminology and captions while keeping the same structure.

We plan the master so that text sits on separate layers and can be translated without re-editing pictures. Each language version is checked by a fluent reviewer you nominate, ideally someone who knows the technical vocabulary. Aspect ratios for trade show screens, websites and social channels are planned at the storyboard stage.

What the first conversation covers

We ask about the audience, the decision you want them to make and the material you can share. From that we suggest a format, a rough structure and whether our approach makes sense at all. A company in Bridge of Don introducing a new inspection service and a hotel group on Union Street refreshing its website will receive very different answers, and sometimes the answer is a combination of a short local shoot and our studio work.

The quote then sets out deliverables, review rounds, language versions and how you may use the finished film. Nothing about ownership or usage is left implied. If a crew would serve you better, we say that in the same conversation.

Plan the details

Do you have an office in Aberdeen?

No. Notlith works remotely and does not send crews. Briefings, reviews and delivery happen online.

Can you work under our framework agreement?

We can review your terms during onboarding. Any requirements on confidentiality, data handling or usage are reflected in the quote.

Can you edit footage shot by another company?

Yes. If a local crew has filmed interviews or operations, we can combine that footage with hybrid sequences built from your photographs.

What kinds of projects suit you less?

Live event coverage, documentaries and anything that relies on real people speaking spontaneously. Those need a camera on the day.
