Video production company in Coventry: engineers, culture and the city centre

Coventry asks very different things of a video production company. An engineering team at Whitley or Ansty needs a render explained, an arts organisation shaped by the City of Culture year needs a season promoted, and a shop in the precincts needs a reason for people to visit. Notlith is a remote studio: we work from your photographs, renders and archives, with creative direction, AI-assisted motion, editing and sound.

Engineering teams with renders but no showroom

Automotive design and engineering have a large site at Whitley, the Manufacturing Technology Centre is at Ansty Park, and the University of Warwick runs WMG on its campus. Around them, suppliers and consultancies often hold excellent CAD renders and test data but little presentable footage.

For these teams we turn cleared renders, diagrams and photographs into films for bids, trade stands and recruitment. Technical claims are copied from approved documents and checked at each review. Confidential items are listed in the brief and kept out of every draft. A version for a trade stand and a shorter one for a tender submission can come from the same master.

Arts and heritage after 2021

Coventry was UK City of Culture for 2021, and the year left festivals, venues and community groups with programmes to sustain. The Belgrade Theatre, the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum and Warwick Arts Centre all promote seasons that change several times a year.

For cultural organisations we usually work from production photographs, archive images and season artwork, building trailers that can be updated as the programme changes. Performers' images are used only with their consent. Where a piece depends on live performance, a filmed excerpt will always say more than our sequences.

Retail and hospitality inside the ring road

The city centre combines the post-war precincts, the market, Spon Street and the streets around the university. Independent shops, cafés and bars there need frequent, short videos more than a single grand film.

We plan a small library from one photography session: product sequences, a room reveal, a seasonal card. Each piece is checked against your photographs so colours and goods stay true. You decide the rhythm of publication; we supply files labelled for each platform. Before Christmas or the Godiva Festival weekend, a fresh end card can turn an existing clip into a timely post.

Recruitment for a city that trains engineers

Coventry University and the University of Warwick both teach engineering and design, and employers across the city recruit graduates and apprentices from them. A recruitment film for that audience should show the actual work, the actual site and the progression on offer.

We build it from photographs of the workplace and approved descriptions of roles. Staff appear only from footage or images they have agreed to. We do not generate employees, and salary or benefit details appear only as your HR team writes them.

Plan the details

Do you have an office or crew in Coventry?

No. We are a remote studio. If your project needs filming on location, we say so early and can work alongside a crew you choose.

What does a typical project start with?

A short brief, a set of photographs or renders and the places the film will appear. We review them and propose a structure before quoting.

Can you handle confidential engineering material?

Yes, within the limits you set. Share only what is cleared, mark anything restricted, and we keep it out of drafts and final files.

Who owns the finished film?

Ownership and usage rights are set out in the quote before work begins, including any licensed music or archive material.

Start with your images

Send us a few lines about the project, your existing material and where the film will be seen, and we will reply with a proposed approach.
