Notlith · Exeter
Video production company for Exeter, shaped around the city's own sectors
Exeter's economy brings together a university and a science park, an NHS hospital trust, the Met Office, tourism on the way to Dartmoor and the coast, food production and professional sport. Notlith is a hybrid studio that works remotely: creative direction, AI-assisted imagery and motion, editing, colour and sound, built from material you already hold. Here is how that applies to some of the sectors present in the city.
Remote production · From your photos

Start-ups at the science park between funding rounds
Companies at Exeter Science Park may need a short film before a funding round, a grant application or a trade event, at a stage when the product is still a prototype or a dataset. There is rarely time or budget for a full shoot, and part of what they do is confidential.
We work from approved screenshots, renders and lab photographs, under a non-disclosure agreement if needed. The film explains the problem, the approach and the evidence, with every result taken from your own figures. If investors need to see the prototype running, a short filmed clip beats any generated sequence, and we will say so.

Tourism between Dartmoor and the coast
Exeter is a starting point for visitors heading to Dartmoor and to the East Devon coast, part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. Holiday lets, activity providers and attractions in or near the city sell places that photograph well, but the landscape is not theirs to invent.
We use your own photographs and licensed images, captioned where they show the wider area rather than your site. Commercial filming on Dartmoor can require permission, one more reason to work from material that is already cleared. Generated scenery is limited to sky and light, never a cliff, tor or beach that is not there.

Food producers with years of photographs
Dairy, cider, meat and baked goods are made in the countryside around Exeter, and many producers sell through farm shops, markets and delicatessens. Such businesses often hold years of photographs on phones and in folders, yet no edited film.
We sort that archive into a usable story: the farm, the process, the product, the people who agreed to appear. Welfare and provenance claims are shown only in your approved wording. Generated imagery is not used for animals or crops, because a buyer or an inspector would notice the difference at once.

Match days, hospitality and when a camera is needed
Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park and Exeter City at St James Park bring match-day trade to hospitality businesses, and both grounds host events beyond sport. Sponsors and partners want films that show their involvement, often under strict rules about club marks.
For promotional films built from cleared photographs and brand assets, we are a good fit. For live action, crowd reactions or player interviews, a crew at the ground is needed, and a local videographer is the better choice. We will tell you which side of that line your brief falls on before quoting.

Do you have an office in Exeter?
No. We work remotely, with briefs, reviews and delivery handled online. If your project needs someone on site, we will say so early.
Can you sign a non-disclosure agreement?
Yes. Confidential material for science park or research projects can be covered by an NDA before you send anything.
What material is enough to start?
Usually a set of current photographs, your logo and brand files, and a clear idea of who the film is for. We assess what you have before proposing anything.
Can you work alongside our agency?
Yes. We can deliver the film to an agency's brief and brand rules, with review rounds agreed in the quote.
