Event video in Sheffield: promoting the date, not an imaginary crowd

Sheffield's calendar has fixed points that shape everyone else's plans: Tramlines filling Hillsborough Park in July, DocFest in June, the snooker at the Crucible in spring, Off the Shelf in the autumn. A smaller gig, talk or fringe programme has to find its audience around them. Notlith makes event promo videos remotely from your poster, line-up and venue photographs, with editing, AI-assisted motion and sound.

Fringe programmes around the big weekends

Pubs, bars and small rooms often programme their own events when the city is already full of visitors for a festival. That is an opportunity and a problem: your clip appears next to dozens of others. The first two seconds have to state the act, the venue and the date, readable on a phone without sound.

We do not borrow a festival's name or branding unless you are an official part of it. If your night is independent, the film says where it is and when, and lets the music and design carry the rest.

Talks, readings and screenings

A literature festival session or a documentary screening sells on the speaker, the subject and the room, not on lasers. For these, we build quieter films from author portraits supplied with permission, book covers, stills cleared by the distributor and a clear booking link.

Generated imagery is kept away from real people. We will not animate a speaker's face or invent a reaction from an audience. Where a cover or still is the strongest asset, we give it time on screen and work the motion into typography and light.

Venues across the city, from City Hall to Kelham Island

A concert at City Hall on Barker's Pool and a tasting in a brewery taproom near Kelham Island need different promises. One is about seats and an orchestra; the other about a room, a host and a limited number of tickets. Send photographs of the actual space you have booked, with its real capacity and layout.

If the event is outdoors, say what happens if it rains. Viewers in a hilly city with changeable weather appreciate knowing whether the evening moves inside, and the film can carry that line in the closing frame.

From announcement to last call

Most events need more than one cut: an announcement, a line-up reveal, a reminder in the final week and perhaps a sold-out notice. We design a visual system with the dates, names and prices kept as editable text so each stage can follow quickly without rebuilding the film.

Formats are agreed at the start: vertical for stories, square for feeds, landscape for screens in the venue. The quote lists every version and review round, so nobody discovers in the last week that a format is missing.

Plan the details

Can we use footage from last year's event?

Yes, if you hold the rights and the people shown have agreed. We label it as a previous edition so it does not suggest this year's line-up or attendance.

Can you make it look busier than it was?

No. We do not generate crowds or reactions presented as real. Design, sound and the venue itself can create energy honestly.

Do you film on the night?

No, we work remotely from supplied material. If you want coverage of the event itself, you will need a photographer or crew on site, and we can edit their footage afterwards if scoped.

What if a performer cancels?

Because names sit in editable layers, a replacement version can be prepared. Tell us quickly and send the approved wording and image of the new act.
