Notlith · Oxford

Video production company for Oxford, working remotely and saying so

Oxford buyers of video often sit inside careful institutions: research groups, charities, publishers, schools, clinics. They need to know exactly how a supplier works before signing. Notlith is a hybrid video production company that makes films remotely from your photographs and references, with creative direction, AI-assisted imagery, editing, colour and sound. We have no Oxford office and no local crew.

What procurement teams usually ask

Organisations with purchasing rules want a defined scope: what is delivered, in which formats, with how many review rounds and under which usage terms. Our quote sets those out in plain language, so a finance office or grant administrator can check it against their requirements.

If your project is funded by a research grant or a charitable programme, tell us the reporting and acknowledgement rules at the start. Funder logos and credit lines are included only as your agreement specifies. University departments may also have their own brand and accessibility rules, and those take precedence over our default styles.

When photographs are enough, and when they are not

A property, a product, a room for hire or a digital service can usually be presented from good photographs, screens and diagrams. We review your material first and tell you honestly whether it supports the film you have in mind.

Interviews, lectures, live performances and documentary scenes in the city need real cameras. For those, a local videographer is the right supplier, and we can work on the edit, graphics and sound from their footage if you want one team to finish both. That combination works well for a charity appeal or a public lecture series, where real voices matter and the motion graphics carry the explanation.

Images that may carry restrictions

Oxford material often includes protected names, crests, college buildings and photographs taken under specific permissions. Before we use any of it, we ask who owns the image and what it may be used for. Unclear files are left out rather than risked. Photographs from the Bodleian or museum collections, for instance, come with their own licensing conditions that must be followed.

We never generate a building, a person or an event to stand in for one you cannot photograph. Any composite or generated frame is listed for your approval, and we recommend an on-screen AI note where viewers could mistake it for real footage.

How a project runs from brief to delivery

We start with your objective, audience and placements, then propose an idea and a script. After approval, a visual treatment fixes the look before production. Two structured review rounds keep decisions with your team, and a named reviewer checks every factual statement.

Delivery includes the master and the versions agreed for your website, social channels or screens, each named and specified for its destination. The timetable depends on your review cycle and is fixed in the quote, not assumed. Subtitles and an accessible version for public-sector sites can be included where your organisation requires them.

Plan the details

Can you sign our supplier paperwork?

Send your onboarding requirements with the brief. We review them before quoting so that scope and terms are clear from the start.

Do you work with in-house communications teams?

Yes. We can follow your brand guidelines and route comments through a single coordinator who gathers feedback from colleagues.

Can you meet us in person?

We work remotely, through calls and shared review links. That keeps the process documented and accessible to colleagues in other locations. Every decision, comment and version stays in writing, which suits organisations that need an audit trail.

Do you only make AI films?

AI-assisted imagery is one tool among creative direction, writing, editing, colour and sound. Some films use little generated material at all.
