Product film in Cardiff: Welsh-made goods, shown exactly as they are

A product made or designed in Cardiff often travels with two languages on the label, a story about where it comes from and a buyer who may never visit Wales. Notlith turns your product photographs into short films remotely, with creative direction, AI-assisted motion, editing, colour and sound. The object on screen stays faithful to the one you sell, down to the smallest letter on the pack.

Bilingual packaging, letter for letter

Packaging in Wales frequently carries Welsh alongside English, and Welsh uses accents that generative tools tend to mangle: the circumflex on ŵ and ŷ, the doubled consonants in ll and dd. A label that comes out as near-Welsh looks careless to the people who can read it. We rebuild lettering from your artwork files wherever possible and inspect it shot by shot.

When a move would distort the text, the shot is redesigned so the label sits flat to camera or the pack turns away at the right moment. Your team receives a list of every frame with legible text for sign-off. Barcodes, allergen panels and certification marks follow the same rule: reproduced exactly or kept out of shot.

Provenance claims you can stand behind

Words like Welsh, Cardiff-made or local carry weight with buyers, and some are protected: Welsh Lamb, for instance, is a registered name. A product film should make only the claim your business can support, whether that concerns where the item is designed, made, roasted or packed. Wording comes from your approved product information, and imagery stays consistent with it.

That also restricts scenery. A generated hillside or stretch of coast suggests an origin, so landscape appears only when you supply rights-cleared images that relate truthfully to the product. More often the material tells the story on its own: the grain of a slate coaster, the weave of a wool throw, condensation running down a chilled can.

From a market stall to buyers across the UK

Plenty of small Cardiff producers sell through their own online shop, a stall in Cardiff Market or a seasonal fair, and wholesale to shops elsewhere in Britain. Each channel calls for a different cut. A product page needs a calm loop showing the item from every side, a marketplace listing wants the key feature up front, and a trade buyer looks for the range and how it is packed.

We plan a master sequence and derive the cuts from it, so colour and sound stay consistent across channels. On-screen text is kept short and factual, and any specification, from capacity to ingredients, comes from your product sheet. Claims about sustainability or health need evidence you can show us; otherwise they stay out of the script.

What your photographs need to show

A clean set of references makes the film more accurate: front, back, sides, top and base on a neutral background, close-ups of materials and closures, and a few pictures of the product in use. For a can or a bottle, include the label artwork laid flat. For clothing, include the garment on a person or a form so we can understand its drape.

From there we propose a treatment covering light, pace, music and the order of shots. Generated motion is checked against the physical product at each review, and you approve the final grade on a reference file. Usage rights for the delivered film, across your site, social channels and retail partners, are written into the quote.

Plan the details

Can you make the film before the final packaging is printed?

Yes, from approved print artwork and a prototype. The film is marked as pre-production if the final pack may differ, and it can be updated once real photographs exist.

Can the film include our Cardiff Market stall?

If you have good photographs of it, yes, as context for where people can buy. We would not invent a queue or a stall layout that differs from yours.

Will AI change the colour of our product?

It can drift, which is why each shot is compared with your references and corrected in the grade. Brand colours are checked against your guidelines before delivery.

Do you need the physical product?

No. We work from photographs and files. A short phone clip turning the product in daylight helps us understand reflections and surface texture.
