Event video in Kilkenny for a year of festival weekends
Kilkenny’s year is punctuated by named weekends: Tradfest around St Patrick’s Day, the Roots festival in early May, the Cat Laughs over the June bank holiday, the Arts Festival in August, Savour Kilkenny in October and Kilkenomics in November. If you run an event, you either join one of those moments or avoid it. Notlith makes promotional event videos remotely from your posters, line-ups, venue photos and past images.

Fringe gigs and the festival name
A pub session or a gallery opening may fall during the Arts Festival or the Roots weekend without being part of the official programme. Your video can mention the dates, but it should not use the festival’s logo, typeface or wording in a way that suggests a partnership. Organisers protect those marks, and visitors deserve to know whose event they are buying.
We design an identity that stands next to the festival rather than inside it: your own colours, the venue name and a plain line such as “during the Arts Festival weekend”. If you are an official programme partner, send the approved assets and usage notes and we follow them exactly.

Comedy is hard to trail
A comedy night cannot be sold by showing the jokes, and generated laughter or a fake audience would be dishonest. For a Cat Laughs fringe show or a stand-up evening, the trailer has to work with what is real: the comedians’ approved photos, their own short clips if they provide them, the room and the time.
Typography and timing do much of the work. A line from the performer’s press copy, a beat of silence, the date on a black card. It is a modest format, but it suits an audience who will judge the performer within seconds anyway.

October, when food is the programme
Savour Kilkenny takes over the October bank holiday weekend with demonstrations, tastings and markets. A producer, a cookery school or a restaurant running its own session needs a video that shows the actual food and the actual stall or room, with the session times clear.
We work from your food photography, checked against what will be served. If a dish is still in development, the video says “menu to be confirmed” rather than showing a generated plate. A short vertical cut for the week itself, with the day and place in large type, is often the most useful file.

Talks, debates and the November crowd
Kilkenomics, the economics and comedy festival, and the Subtitle European Film Festival give November a programme of talks and screenings. Smaller conferences and debates in the city can look similar on paper, so a preview should explain the format: who speaks, how long, whether there is a panel or a screening.
We build that preview from headshots supplied with consent, the venue plan and your running order. Speakers are never animated to say words they did not record. After the event, real footage from your own filming or a local videographer can be edited into a recap.

Plan the details
Can you film our event?
No. We do not send crews. We prepare promotion before the date, and we can edit footage that you or a Kilkenny videographer capture on the day.
Can we use images from last year?
Yes, if you hold the rights and the people shown agreed to promotional use. We caption them with the year, so nobody mistakes them for this year’s line-up.
Can the video announce acts in stages?
Yes. We plan a master with slots for names, so each announcement is a fresh cut with the same look rather than a new production.
Do you add sponsor logos?
Yes, from the files and placement rules your sponsors provide. We keep them on an end card so the event itself stays legible.
Start with your images
Send the date, the venue, your line-up as it stands and any images you are cleared to use, and we will plan the first announcement.
