Hobart Australia

Commercial video production for Hobart

Notlith makes commercial films for Hobart businesses without sending a crew across Bass Strait. We start from your photographs, packaging, plans and brand material, then add script, AI-assisted imagery, editing, grading and sound. The result should look like your product, your room or your place on the Derwent, because everything it shows is something you actually have.

A river city beneath the mountain

Hobart sits on the estuary of the River Derwent, with kunanyi / Mount Wellington rising behind the city. Salamanca Place, with its row of sandstone warehouses and the Saturday market, lies a short walk from the docks, while the suburbs climb the slopes and continue across the Tasman Bridge to the Eastern Shore.

Those features shape how local businesses describe themselves: by the river, under the mountain, in Battery Point or North Hobart. We use the same plain language in a film, and only show a place when your photographs or licensed images support it. A view from your premises and a view of the city are kept apart.

Makers, science and a seasonal visitor trade

Hobart's advertisers are varied: distillers, cider makers and growers in the Huon and Coal River valleys, Antarctic and marine research organisations, boatbuilders, public agencies, galleries, and a hospitality trade that follows the year from the Sydney to Hobart finish in late December to the midwinter festivals.

Each needs a different film. A whisky label needs exact origin wording; a research recruiter needs approved images of ships and laboratories; a hotel must separate its rooms from the day trips it suggests. Our service pages for Hobart cover each case in detail; this page explains the method behind them.

From your files to a finished film

The starting point is whatever you already hold: product shots, a floor plan, last season's event photographs, your logo and colours. We study them, write a treatment and share a few reference frames so you can judge the direction before production. AI-assisted motion is then directed shot by shot, edited, graded and scored.

Some briefs need a camera. A chef talking about Tasmanian produce, a crowd at Constitution Dock or a scientist describing fieldwork cannot be generated honestly. In those cases we recommend hiring a local crew and offer to cut their footage with ours. Versions, review rounds and usage rights are set out in the quote.

A place to show off? We turn it into a film.

Our films go beyond products: dining room, terrace, suite or office, we showcase your space from your own images.

Preparing your film

Will anyone from Notlith come to Hobart?

No. We have no office or crew in Tasmania. Briefing, reviews and delivery happen online, and the demos on our site are fictional concepts, not local work.

Can the film show kunanyi or Salamanca Place?

Yes, through licensed images labelled as local context, or your own photographs if they show your actual setting. We do not generate recognisable Hobart landmarks.

Can we make versions for mainland or export buyers?

Yes. Separate openings, captions or language versions can be prepared for each audience. Translations should be checked by a fluent speaker before release.

Where should we begin?

Tell us what the film is for and where it will play, then send your clearest current photographs and any wording your team has already approved.
