Commercial video production for Canberra
Canberra was drawn before it was built, and its businesses tend to value the same thing in a film: a clear plan. Notlith makes commercial films remotely from the photographs, plans and brand material you already hold, adding creative direction, AI-assisted imagery, editing, colour and sound. We work with whatever the capital produces, from cellar-door labels to research spin-offs, and we say early when a brief needs a real camera instead.

A planned capital with a lake at its centre
Canberra grew from a design by the American architects Walter Burley Griffin and Marion Mahony Griffin, organised around a central lake and long sight lines between hills and public buildings. Lake Burley Griffin, created by damming the Molonglo River, now divides the inner north from the inner south. That geometry gives the city an unusually legible identity, and also an unusually recognisable one.
For a film, recognisability cuts both ways. Locals notice immediately when a shoreline, a bridge or a national building is slightly wrong. We therefore never generate Canberra landmarks. If your story needs the lake or the parliamentary triangle, it should come from licensed photography, clearly separated from images of your own premises or products.

Who commissions films in the capital
The public service, national institutions, universities and research bodies shape much of the city's working life, and around them sits a wide circle of consultancies, contractors and technology firms. Their films usually need to explain something precisely to an informed viewer. Accuracy, accessibility and a clean approval trail matter more to them than spectacle.
Alongside that sits a consumer economy with its own seasons: dining precincts in Braddon, Dickson and Kingston, makers selling at weekend markets, cool-climate wineries just beyond the territory border and the visitors who arrive each spring for Floriade in Commonwealth Park. Each of these audiences is addressed on its own service page, with a brief written for that setting.

How remote production fits a Canberra brief
We do not claim an office or crew in the city. Briefs, reviews and delivery happen online, and the film is built from your material: product photographs, interiors, plans, approved screenshots and brand guidelines. Generated motion and atmosphere are added only where they respect what those references show.
That makes the approach a good match for launches, explainers and promotional pieces, and a poor one for interviews, announcements or event coverage, which need genuine recording. Captions come as standard. Versions, ratios, review rounds and usage terms are set out in the quote once we have seen representative references.

A place to show off? We turn it into a film.
Our films go beyond products: dining room, terrace, suite or office, we showcase your space from your own images.

Preparing your film
Can we include Canberra landmarks in our film?
Yes, through licensed photographs you supply or source. We do not generate landmark buildings or the lakeshore, and destination shots are labelled separately from your own premises.
Do you work with public-sector organisations?
We can, where your procurement rules allow it. We make no claim to sit on any supplier panel, so check the engagement route first. Captions and accessible on-screen text are included.
What should we send first?
The purpose of the film, where it will run, a representative set of full-resolution photographs and the details that must stay exactly as they are. We assess those before proposing a treatment.
