Video production for Canberra organisations

Organisations comparing video production companies in Canberra are often weighing very different offers: a crew that films on site, an agency that manages strategy and media, or a studio that builds films from existing material. Notlith is the third kind. We produce hybrid films remotely from your photographs and references, with creative direction, AI-assisted sequences, editing, colour and sound. This page explains where that approach fits a Canberra brief and where it does not.

What a remote studio can deliver here

If your material already exists, such as product photography, plans, interiors or brand assets, we can turn it into a finished film without anyone travelling to your office in Civic or your site in Hume. That suits launches, explainers and promotional pieces where the subject is an object, a space or a service.

It does not suit interviews, ministerial announcements, live events or documentary work. Those need real capture, and we say so before quoting. We do not claim a Canberra office or crew, and we will not suggest that generated footage replaces a genuine recording when authenticity is the whole point.

Working alongside agencies and communications teams

Many Canberra campaigns are led by a communications team or an agency that holds the strategy and the client relationship. In that case we act as a production partner: we take an agreed creative brief, propose a treatment and deliver files that fit the campaign's existing look.

We work to your approval process and naming conventions. Factual statements, logos and disclaimers come from you, and we do not contact your client directly unless asked. If the work needs to stay unbranded on our side, we discuss that in the quote rather than assuming it.

Accessibility treated as part of the film

Government and many institutional websites are expected to meet recognised web accessibility guidelines, and that shapes how a video should be delivered. We include accurate captions, keep on-screen text large and high in contrast, and avoid flashing sequences.

Where narration carries essential information, a transcript should sit alongside the video. If key information is only visual, an audio-described version or a descriptive narration may be needed. We raise these questions during scripting, since adding them after the edit is locked is harder and costs more time.

Making quotes easy to compare

When you compare a remote studio with a local crew, the line items look different: no shoot days or equipment, but more time in creative development and image work. Our quote lists the master film, its cutdowns and ratios, captions, music licensing and the number of review rounds.

If your organisation buys through a panel or procurement process, check whether a supplier like us can be engaged under it; we make no claim to sit on any panel. Ownership and usage rights for the delivered film are set out in the quote, so your legal team can review them before work begins.

Plan the details

Are you based in Canberra?

No. We work remotely with Canberra organisations and do not claim a local office or crew. Briefs, reviews and delivery happen online.

Can you film interviews with our executives?

No. Real interviews need real recording. If you already have interview footage or audio, we can discuss whether it fits within a hybrid film.

Do you provide captions and transcripts?

Captions are included as standard. A transcript or audio-described version can be added when the content requires it, and is listed in the quote.

Can you work under our brand guidelines?

Yes. Send the guidelines, approved fonts and logo files. We follow them in every version and flag anything that conflicts with accessibility needs.
