Venue and shop films in Hobart: from a market stall to a wharf shed

Hobart's shops and venues come in unusual shapes: a stall that exists only on Saturdays, a boutique in an arcade, a gallery in a sandstone warehouse, a function room on a pier. Each needs a film that helps someone find it and understand what happens inside. Notlith produces venue and shop films remotely from your photographs, with AI-assisted motion, editing, colour and sound.

A shop that appears on Saturday

Stallholders at Salamanca Market trade outdoors, and their shop is a table and a canopy that change with the weather. A short film can still give that business a home online, showing the products, the maker at work in their studio and the stall's position in the market, so a visitor can find it on the day. Name the row or the nearest landmark you use when giving directions yourself.

Market photographs are often taken in harsh midday light. We grade them for consistency and add gentle motion, but the stall stays as it really looks. If you sell online between market days, the film can end on that link instead of the stall. A second ending, for the weeks you are away, avoids sending anyone to an empty pitch.

Arcades, the mall and street frontages

A boutique in the Cat & Fiddle Arcade or near the Elizabeth Mall has to be found among its neighbours. The opening shot should be your own frontage and signage, recognisable from the footpath, followed by the counter and the stock a customer comes in for. If the entrance is shared with other tenants, a short walk-in sequence from the street removes any doubt.

Stock changes faster than shopfronts. We separate the permanent part of the film, the space and the brand, from short inserts showing current lines, so the main film stays useful long after the next delivery arrives and the window display changes.

Galleries and makers in sandstone rooms

The Salamanca Arts Centre and the galleries around it show work in old warehouse rooms with thick stone walls and timber floors. A gallery film should respect the artworks: no generated pieces, no altered canvases, and image rights cleared with each artist before their work appears on screen.

AI motion can travel slowly through a room built from your installation photographs, but a painting or sculpture is shown exactly as photographed. Exhibition dates and opening nights go in text, so a single film can serve several shows across the year. Titles and media are taken from your catalogue, never guessed from an image.

Function spaces on the waterfront

Event spaces along the wharves and in converted sheds are booked by people planning weddings, conferences and launches. They need to see layouts: theatre seating, banquet rounds, a standing cocktail setup. Each configuration in the film should come from photographs of that arrangement in your own space.

Views of the Derwent, the docks or kunanyi add value but must be the views from your windows. We do not composite skylines. Capacity figures, catering options and accessibility details sit in captions taken from your own fact sheet.

Plan the details

Can a film help visitors find us?

Yes. We can add a simple map card or written directions from a landmark such as a wharf, an arcade or a street corner, based on information you confirm.

Can the film show products we no longer sell?

We advise against it. Customers who arrive looking for a discontinued line leave disappointed. Keep current stock in short inserts that can be replaced.

Can artists' work be animated?

Only with the artist's permission, and only through camera movement around the work. We never alter the artwork itself. Each artist can be credited on screen.

Do you film inside the venue?

No. Notlith works remotely. Send photographs of the space in each layout; if gaps remain, a Hobart photographer can fill them before we start.
