Event video in Napier: period dress, Marine Parade and the theatre
Napier hosts events that ask a lot of their guests: a dress code from the 1930s, a programme spread across the city, a seat in a heritage theatre. A short film can answer those questions before tickets are bought. Notlith produces event videos remotely from your programme, venue photographs and brand material, with editing, colour, music and sound.

When the ticket comes with a dress code
Each February, Art Deco Weekend fills Napier with vintage cars, period costume and events across the city. Organisers of a dinner, dance or picnic running during that weekend often need to explain how formal the dress is, where the event sits and what is included, before guests commit to an outfit. A clear film reduces the questions your team answers by email in the final week.
We build that promotion around the practical answers: date, venue, attire and booking. The festival name and marks belong to its organisers, so we use them only with permission, or describe the timing in plain words instead. Guests should leave the film knowing exactly which event they are booking. Shuttle times, parking and wet-weather plans can sit on a final card that is easy to update.

1930s style without a fake newsreel
A sepia filter and a crackling soundtrack can suggest the period quickly. They can also suggest archive footage that never existed, which sits uncomfortably in a city where the 1931 earthquake is real family history. We keep the line clear between styling and record. Many local families lost relatives or homes in that disaster, and promotion should respect it.
Period lettering, a warm grade and music of the era are acceptable design choices. Generated images of crowds, streets or historic moments are not passed off as documents. Where genuine historical photographs help, they come from a licensed collection and are credited. That distinction protects both your event and the city's own history.

A programme at the Conference Centre
The Napier Conference Centre sits on Marine Parade, a short walk from the city centre and its hotels. For a professional conference, the decision to register depends on the speakers, the sessions and the ease of the trip, not on the sea view alone. A delegate deciding between two conferences is weighing time away from work.
We structure a delegate video around the programme: themes for each day, confirmed speakers named only with consent, and a final card covering flights into Hawke's Bay Airport and accommodation nearby. When the programme changes, the relevant titles are updated rather than the whole film. We can also prepare a short loop for screens in the foyer during breaks.

Nights at the Municipal Theatre
The Napier Municipal Theatre opened in 1938 and keeps its Art Deco interior. A touring show, a local production or a school performance can all use that room as part of the invitation, provided the images match the seating and the stage as they actually are. Images of past performances are labelled with the production they come from.
We work from photographs of the auditorium and foyer supplied by you or the venue, and from approved production stills. Seating, accessibility and timing are given as text. Recording the performance itself needs a camera in the room, and we can edit that material afterwards. A short trailer for the season can then point to each show's booking page.

Plan the details
Can we use footage from previous years?
Yes, if you hold the rights and the people shown agreed to be filmed. We label earlier editions clearly so viewers do not assume they show the coming event. Older material can still set the mood of the evening.
Can the video include a vintage car?
Only one you can photograph or license. We do not generate a recognisable vehicle and imply it will appear at your event. A licensed photograph of a similar model, labelled as illustration, is a possible alternative.
Do you film on the night?
No. We have no crew in Napier. A local camera operator can record the event, and we can edit their footage into a recap. That recap can then serve as promotion for the following year.
How many versions are useful?
Usually an invitation, a reminder close to the date and a short programme update. We agree the set in the quote. Extra cuts can be added later if the campaign grows.
