AI video production in Waterford: films for cut glass and engraved gifts

Waterford's name has been tied to cut glass since the eighteenth century, and the city still has makers, engravers and shops selling crystal as gifts for weddings, anniversaries and presentations. Glass is also among the hardest materials for AI to render faithfully. Notlith makes advertising films for these businesses from photographs of the real pieces, using generation for light, setting and movement while the cuts stay exactly as they were made.

Refraction a model will not invent for you

Ask an image model for a cut-glass bowl and it returns sparkle without structure: wedges that do not line up, a star base with the wrong number of points, reflections that ignore the table. Anyone who owns a piece of crystal notices. Our work begins with detailed photographs of each item, shot on black and on white, which become the reference every frame is checked against.

We let AI move the light around the piece, place it on a sideboard or a dinner table, and turn it slowly so the facets catch. If a cut pattern drifts during a turn, the shot is rebuilt or replaced with a plain photographic move. Where a pattern has a name, the film shows it only as your catalogue does.

Names and dates engraved on a separate layer

Many of these pieces are personal: a couple's names on a decanter, a club crest on a trophy, a retirement date on a vase. Generated lettering is unreliable, so we never ask a model to engrave. Engraving is added as a controlled layer from your artwork, matched to the depth and frosting of a real engraved sample you photograph for us.

That lets one film carry many examples. A wedding variant shows two names and a date, a sports variant a crest and a season, a corporate variant a company line. Each is the same edit with the personalised text swapped, so a customer can picture their own piece before ordering. Spelling of every name is checked against your order form.

The occasion decides the setting

A crystal gift is bought for an occasion that happens somewhere else: a reception in a hotel function room, a club dinner, an office farewell. We generate those settings as plain, believable rooms without recognisable venues, so the piece remains the subject. Lighting follows the occasion, warm and low for a wedding table, brighter and more formal for a presentation.

We do not generate the House of Waterford Crystal, the Mall or the Viking Triangle as a backdrop for a brand that is not theirs, and we avoid wording that suggests an origin or affiliation you do not have. If your workshop is in the city, your own photographs of it say so honestly, and better than any generated street.

From Winterval to the summer wedding season

Winterval brings visitors into the city centre from late November, a natural moment for a Christmas gift campaign. A December cut with your opening hours and last engraving date on an editable text layer suits a window screen around John Roberts Square and your social channels, in widescreen, vertical and square versions from the same edit.

Summer weddings call for a slower film, aimed at couples building a gift list and guests looking for something lasting. If what sets you apart is the cutter at the wheel, a real recording in your workshop will be stronger than anything generated, and the AI work can be built around it. For customers abroad, delivery notes on the end card change per market.

Plan the details

Can AI show our crystal accurately?

Only when every frame is checked against detailed photographs of the actual piece. We rebuild any shot where cuts, facets or the base pattern change, and use plain photographic moves when generation cannot hold the pattern.

Can a customer see their own engraving in the film?

We can produce personalised variants with names, dates or crests as a separate layer, matched to a photographed engraved sample. Each variant is reviewed before delivery.

Can the film say our glass is Waterford Crystal?

Only if it is. Brand names, pattern names and origin wording appear as your legal or licensing position allows, and we avoid suggesting an affiliation you do not have.

What photographs do you need?

Each piece on black and on white, a close-up of the base and cuts, an engraved sample if you engrave, and any workshop shots you are happy to show.

Start with your images

Send photographs of the pieces you want to feature, an engraved sample, your catalogue names and the occasions and dates your campaign should cover.
