Event video in Cork, from Midsummer to the Jazz weekend
Cork’s cultural year has fixed points that organisers plan around: Cork Midsummer Festival in June, the Jazz Festival over the October bank holiday weekend, the film festival in November and Glow at Christmas. Notlith makes the promotional films that run before an event, built remotely from your previous editions’ photographs, your artwork and your confirmed details, with editing, colour and sound arranged around ticket sales rather than a recap.

Announcing before the programme is complete
Festivals in Cork rarely confirm everything at once. A first film may announce the dates and the mood, a second the headline acts, a third the venues and late additions. We plan that sequence with you so each version reuses the same look and opening, and only the information you have confirmed is added at each stage.
Names, dates and venue details go into the film exactly as they appear in your approved programme. If an act is unconfirmed, it stays out. We prefer a clean title card over a clever transition when the purpose is to tell someone which night to book, and we keep a text-free master ready for later updates.

Opera House stage or a room above a pub
An event at Cork Opera House on Emmet Place, a gig in a small venue near Oliver Plunkett Street and a summer stadium concert at Páirc Uí Chaoimh call for very different films. The venue you have actually booked should be the one viewers see, using photographs you have permission to use, ideally from the venue itself.
We do not generate crowds to suggest that an event has already sold well, and we do not place your stage in front of a landmark it does not face. If you want the city in the film, supply licensed images of Cork and we will make clear which shots show the venue and which show the setting.

Conferences, congresses and university events
Academic conferences at University College Cork and business events in hotels around the city need a different tone: the speakers, the programme, the practicalities of reaching the venue from Kent Station or Cork Airport. A short registration film can sit on the event page and in delegate emails, with captions that work when viewed silently.
Speakers appear only through photographs they have approved, and their titles are taken from your programme. Sponsor logos follow the agreements you hold. We can prepare a version for each sponsor tier if the brief requires it, though one well-made film usually serves the whole audience better than many variants.

Recaps need real footage
A film made after the event, showing what actually happened, depends on photographs or video captured on the day. We can edit a recap from the material your photographer delivers, but we cannot recreate a performance or an atmosphere that nobody recorded, and we would not want to.
For something like Cork Week at Crosshaven, where the action is on the water, footage from a crew or a licensed photographer is essential. Our part is the edit, grade, titles and sound. Usage across your channels, sponsors and future editions is defined in the quote before work begins.

Plan the details
Can you use photos from last year’s festival?
Yes, if you hold the rights and the images are labelled as a previous edition where that matters. A returning act or a changed venue should not be implied by an old photograph.
Can the film include Irish-language titles?
Yes. Supply the approved Irish wording, ideally checked by a fluent speaker you trust, and we will set it alongside or instead of the English titles.
How do we handle a late line-up change?
We keep an editable master with replaceable title cards. Changing a name or date is then a defined revision rather than a new film.
Do you film the event itself?
No. We do not send crews. For live coverage, hire a local videographer; we can then edit their footage into teasers for your next edition.
Start with your images
Send the event dates, venue, confirmed programme, artwork and any rights-cleared photographs from previous editions, and we will outline the announcement sequence.
