AI video production in Wellington: films for coffee roasters, from café counter to home kitchen

Wellington's café culture is well known, and behind it are roasters who sell in two directions at once: wholesale to the cafés that pour their coffee, and retail bags or subscriptions to people brewing at home. Notlith makes advertising films for them remotely, built with AI from photos of your roastery, your bags and your cups. We write, generate, edit, grade and score the film, and we keep your roast honest.

Two buyers: the café owner and the home brewer

A café owner on Cuba Street or in Petone chooses a roaster for consistency, service and a blend their customers will come back for. Someone ordering a bag online is choosing a taste and a ritual. One film rarely persuades both, so we plan two from the same material: a calm wholesale film, and short subscription ads with a warmer, domestic tone.

The wholesale film follows a morning at your roastery and ends on a cup poured in a café that could be one of your accounts, without naming or depicting a real one. The retail ads follow one moment at home, a grinder on a bench, a cold southerly against the window, the first pour. Both stories are agreed with you before generation starts.

The roaster, the cupping table, the bag

We build from what you can photograph: your roaster and its drum, the cooling tray, the cupping table, sacks of green coffee, your bags with their labels and roast date panel. AI animates beans tumbling, steam and light moving across the room, but the equipment and packaging stay as they are, so an industry eye recognises a working roastery.

Coffee itself is unforgiving on screen. Crema that looks like plastic or a flat white with impossible latte art makes a roaster look careless. We keep the colour of the roast and the cup close to your own photos, and if you want a barista's pour to be the hero shot, filming a real pour on your machine is better and we will recommend it.

Origin stories you can document

Single-origin and relationship coffee invites scenes of farms and pickers. We do not generate growers, faces or farms to represent your supply chain, because a viewer will take them as real. Origin appears in the film only through photos your producers or importers have shared with you, or through simple maps, names and harvest details printed on the bag.

The same rule applies to words. Terms such as organic, Fairtrade, direct trade or carbon neutral appear only if you hold the certification or documentation behind them, and in your own phrasing. When a new origin arrives each season, we swap the bag, the origin card and the tasting notes in the film without rebuilding the rest.

A counter screen, a wholesale pitch and a 9:16 subscription ad

The wholesale film runs in 16:9 for your website and for the link you send to a café owner after a tasting. A silent loop can play on a screen behind a partner's counter, showing the roastery and the current origin. For subscriptions, vertical 9:16 and square 1:1 cuts run on Instagram and Facebook during the cold months.

If you would like a te reo Māori greeting or line in the film, we use wording you have confirmed with a speaker or adviser, never a machine translation. Every version carries a clear note that AI was used, and the rights to use the film are set out in the quote.

Plan the details

Can the film show latte art?

Simple pours can be generated convincingly, but detailed latte art often looks wrong. If milk work is central to your brand, we recommend filming a real pour and combining it with generated scenes.

We have no photos from origin. Is that a problem?

No. The film can tell the origin through the bag, a map and tasting notes. We would rather leave the farm out than invent one.

Can the film feature the cafés that serve our coffee?

Only with their agreement and their own photos. Otherwise we generate a café that is clearly not a real one, so no business is shown as an account without consent.

Can we update the film when our single origins change?

Yes. The bag, origin card and tasting notes are separate elements, so a new seasonal coffee can be swapped in while the roastery scenes stay the same.
