AI video production in Dunedin: campaign films that leave the wildlife real
Notlith makes advertising films for Dunedin brands with AI, working remotely from your product photographs, venue images and brand references. A campaign film still needs one idea, a script and a consistent look; AI-assisted image and motion generation lets us build it without a shoot. Near a peninsula where albatrosses and yellow-eyed penguins breed, it also needs firm limits.

One idea, built from real material
A good campaign film says one thing. For a Dunedin chocolate maker it might be the moment a bar snaps; for a heritage hotel, the first evening in a stone building; for a fashion label, the way one coat moves. We write that idea into a short script, then check whether your photographs can carry it.
AI comes in after the script: extending a background, giving a still product a slow turn, adding light that matches the scene. Every frame containing your product is compared with the reference, and anything that changes its shape, label or colour is rebuilt before you see it.

Things we will not generate
We do not generate wildlife and present it as Dunedin's. The northern royal albatross at Taiaroa Head and the hoiho are protected species, and viewers deserve to know that an animal on screen is real. If your campaign needs them, it needs licensed footage or a wildlife filmmaker.
The same goes for landmarks and people. We will not invent a version of Larnach Castle or the railway station, place your product on Baldwin Street as if photographed there, or create a customer giving a testimonial. Generated sequences are listed in the delivery notes, and an on-screen label can be added.

Versions for each placement and audience
A campaign usually needs a horizontal master for web and screens, vertical cuts for stories and reels, and a square version for feeds. A Dunedin advertiser may also want one version for visitors and another for locals, or titles that include te reo Māori names supplied by the client.
Each version is planned from the start so compositions work in every frame. Review rounds, formats and usage rights for the finished film are set out in the quote rather than assumed. The music bed and sound design are composed to survive the shortest cut as well as the master.

When a camera is the better answer
Some Dunedin briefs are better shot for real: a chef at work, a festival night, a boat trip on the harbour, a researcher in the lab. Their value lies in being genuine, and generating them would weaken the message. We tell you when that is the case. Recorded footage also brings real voices, which a generated scene cannot.
A hybrid route is possible too. A local crew films the real moments, and we create the product or brand sequences around them with AI, matched in colour, grain and sound so the campaign reads as one film.

Plan the details
Will viewers be able to tell the film uses AI?
We aim for a consistent, cinematic finish. We are open about the method and, on request, add a label or a line in the credits.
Can you put our product in a Dunedin landscape?
We can use a licensed photograph of a real place as a backdrop, presented as a setting. We will not imply the product was photographed there.
What do you need to start?
Sharp photographs of the product or venue from several angles, your brand guidelines, the message and where the film will run.
Can we reuse the film next year?
Usage terms are written into the quote. Updating a dated detail, such as a season or an offer, is usually a small edit.
