AI video production in Queenstown: the winter campaign, made in autumn
Queenstown businesses that depend on the ski season face an awkward timing problem: the campaign has to be live before the first snow, yet there is nothing fresh to film until it falls. Notlith creates advertising films with AI from the material you already own, last season's photos, product shots, venue images, and adds the idea, script, look, edit, grade and sound.
Remote production · From your photos

One campaign idea for the season
A rental shop, an outerwear label, a lodge or an après bar each need a single idea for the season ahead, such as first chair, the drive up the access road, or the warm room after a cold day. We write it as a short script with a clear ending, then present look frames before anything is generated.
The idea comes from your offer, not from the most spectacular slope we could render. If your strength is fast boot fitting, that is the story, even if the mountain stays in the background. A clear idea also makes the later cutdowns easier, because every short version still has something to say.

Snow we can show, snow we cannot
A generated wintry atmosphere around an anonymous slope is acceptable advertising language. A generated version of Coronet Peak's base area, a named run or a lift that looks like a real one is not, because it pretends to document a place. We keep identifiable sites to your own photographs.
Products and interiors are treated the same way: jacket seams, rental skis, the lodge fireplace all follow your references frame by frame. We never add features, such as a hot tub or a new colourway, that do not exist when the campaign runs.

Masters, cutdowns and the opening weekend
The master runs in 16:9 for YouTube and your website, with 9:16 cutdowns for stories and 1:1 or 4:5 for feeds. A separate short version can carry the opening date once the ski areas confirm it, so the main film does not need re-editing when plans shift. Snowfall is unpredictable, and the campaign should be able to wait gracefully.
If the campaign reaches Australian or Asian visitors, we prepare subtitled versions from translations you approve. The on-screen text stays brief enough to survive translation without crowding the frame.

Labelling, rights and when to wait for real snow
AI-generated passages are disclosed in a short on-screen note or caption, following platform rules and your own policy. Ownership and usage of the delivered film are set out in the quote. We do not create people giving testimonials or fake guests enjoying your venue.
Some films are better made for real: a ski school wanting to show its instructors, or an operator whose terrain is the product. In that case we suggest a later shoot and can plan the AI-assisted autumn film as a teaser.

Can the film be ready before the season opens?
That is the point of this approach. Timing depends on scope and review rounds, which we agree in the quote once we have seen your material.
Can we reuse the film next winter?
Often, yes. We keep project files organised so dates, offers or products can be updated without starting again.
Will viewers know it is AI?
Yes, where it matters. We label generated content and avoid scenes that could be mistaken for documentary footage of real places or people.
Does this work for summer campaigns too?
Yes. The same process suits lake, cycling or wine-season campaigns, especially when the film must be ready before the conditions arrive.
Start with your images
Send last season's photos, your product or venue references and the date your campaign must go live, and we will propose the idea.
