Queenstown New Zealand
Commercial video production for Queenstown
Queenstown, Tāhuna, sits on the shore of Lake Wakatipu beneath Ben Lomond and Queenstown Hill, with The Remarkables across the water. Almost every business here sells against that backdrop. Notlith makes hybrid commercial films remotely from the photographs and clips you already hold, adding direction, AI-assisted imagery, editing, colour and sound, while keeping your offer in front of the scenery.

A town with two calendars
Queenstown runs on a winter rhythm and a summer one. Ski areas such as Coronet Peak and The Remarkables shape the cold months; lake cruises, walking tracks and cycle trails shape the warm ones. A film made for one season can look wrong in the other, so we plan sequences that can be swapped rather than rebuilt.
That matters for hotels, restaurants, retailers and operators alike. We ask which months your film must work in, which photographs belong to which season, and what changes in your offer between them, before writing a single line of script.

More than the town centre
The district stretches well beyond the lakefront streets: Frankton with the airport and its retail centres, Arrowtown and its gold-rush heritage, the vineyards of Gibbston, growing suburbs such as Lake Hayes Estate and Shotover Country, and Glenorchy at the head of the lake. Each has its own customers and its own reasons to visit, and a film that blurs them confuses the people it is meant to guide.
We keep those places distinct on screen. A business in Arrowtown should not borrow a lakefront view, and a Frankton showroom should not imply a walk from the wharf. Location claims come from your own address and photographs.

What we do, and what we leave to a crew
Our studio writes the idea and script, sets the look, generates or extends imagery where it helps, and finishes the edit, grade, music and sound. We work from product shots, venue photography, plans, brand files and existing footage, and deliver landscape and vertical versions.
We have no office or crew in Queenstown. Adventure activities, interviews and anything that must be documented should be filmed for real, and we will say so. Generated content is labelled, and we never invent guests, testimonials, landmarks or product features.

Venue films
Welcoming guests? We film your venue too.
Restaurant, hotel, shop or property: from your photos, we make a hybrid film that makes people want to visit.

Preparing your film
Which businesses do you work with in Queenstown?
Any business with good source material: accommodation, restaurants and bars, shops, tourism operators, property marketers, event organisers and local brands. The service pages below explain each type of film.
Can you produce a film without visiting?
Yes. Everything is produced remotely from what you send. If a scene needs real filming, we tell you early and can work with footage from a crew you hire.
Can the film use te reo Māori place names?
Yes. We use the names and spellings you approve, such as Tāhuna and Whakatipu, in captions and voice-over.
