Tauranga New Zealand
Commercial video production for Tauranga
Tauranga wraps around a sheltered harbour on the Bay of Plenty, with Mauao at its entrance and orchards running inland toward the Kaimai Range. Notlith makes commercial films for businesses here remotely, starting from your own photographs, plans and brand material, then adding creative direction, AI-assisted imagery, editing, colour and sound.

A harbour city with a working port
Tauranga Harbour is protected by Matakana Island and by Mauao, the extinct volcano the city also calls Mount Maunganui, which stands at the end of a sandbar linking it to the mainland. The Port of Tauranga works on both sides of the water: wharves at Mount Maunganui, and a container terminal at Sulphur Point near the city centre. Logs and timber have long been a staple cargo, and cruise ships call at the Mount in season.
Across the Harbour Bridge, the city centre faces the water along The Strand, while suburbs such as Bethlehem, Greerton, Welcome Bay and Pāpāmoa spread out around it. Shopping is split between centres like Bayfair and Tauranga Crossing and village streets, and the area is home to the iwi of Tauranga Moana: Ngāi Te Rangi, Ngāti Ranginui and Ngāti Pūkenga.

Orchards, trades and the coast
Kiwifruit and avocado orchards are spread across the surrounding Western Bay of Plenty, supporting packhouses, coolstores, contractors and transport firms. Around them sit marine businesses, builders and civil contractors working on new streets and roads, and a hospitality trade that runs from Mount Maunganui's beachfront to the city's waterfront.
The calendar has its own markers: the National Jazz Festival each Easter, international cricket at Bay Oval and events at Baypark, and the holiday weeks when the Mount fills with visitors. For a business here, a film often has to work for a local audience, a visitor and, for exporters, a buyer on the other side of the world.

How we work with Tauranga businesses
We have no office in Tauranga and send no crew. Instead, we build films from the material you can share: product and site photographs, listing images, floor plans, label artwork, menus and brand files. AI-assisted imagery adds movement, light and setting, and every frame is checked against your references so products, rooms and places stay recognisable.
Some projects need a camera on the day: interviews, live events, working machinery or documentary filming. In those cases a local crew is the honest recommendation, and we can edit their footage afterwards. Our demonstration films are fictional concepts, not Tauranga commissions, and the scope of each project is agreed in the quote.

Venue films
Welcoming guests? We film your venue too.
Restaurant, hotel, shop or property: from your photos, we make a hybrid film that makes people want to visit.

Preparing your film
Do you visit sites in Tauranga?
No. Notlith works remotely from the photographs, plans and documents you send. If a project needs filming on location, we will say so and suggest a local crew.
Can a film show Mauao or the harbour?
Yes, using licensed images presented as the setting. We do not place your business in a view it does not have, or generate a landmark that misrepresents the place.
Can you prepare versions for export markets?
Yes. We can plan separate edits with the correct labels and titles for each market, using text you supply and have checked by native speakers.
What should we send first?
A short description of the purpose and audience, a selection of current photographs and any brand guidelines. We review them before proposing an approach.
