Victoria Canada

Commercial video production for Victoria

Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, sits at the southern tip of Vancouver Island, on the traditional territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples, today the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. Notlith makes commercial films for organizations here remotely, starting from your photographs, recordings and brand material, then adding creative direction, AI-assisted imagery, editing, colour and sound.

A capital built around its harbour

The city grew around the Inner Harbour, where the Parliament Buildings face the water and floatplanes, small harbour ferries and the passenger ferry from Seattle come and go. BC Ferries sailings through Swartz Bay link the region with the mainland. Greater Victoria spreads across several municipalities, from Oak Bay and Saanich to Esquimalt, Langford and Sidney.

Working life combines the provincial public service, tourism and hospitality, technology firms, education at the University of Victoria, Camosun College and Royal Roads University, and marine activity around Esquimalt Harbour, home to a naval base and a graving dock. Small makers, restaurants, shops and trades fill in the rest of the picture.

What we make for Victoria organizations

Our films start from what you can show us: product photographs, room and venue images, floor plans, screenshots, recorded interviews. We write a script, set a look and use AI-assisted generation to add movement and context, checking each frame against your references so the object, room or service stays accurate.

We have no office on Vancouver Island and send no crew. Live events, wildlife trips and interviews need a real camera, and we will recommend one when that is the better choice. We can also edit footage that a local videographer records, adding titles, colour and sound.

Local scenery, used with care

The harbour, the Olympic Mountains across the strait, the Chinatown gate and Beacon Hill Park are easy to recognize. They appear in our films only through licensed photography, captioned as the city, and are never composited behind a product or into a window to suggest a location your business does not have.

Names and wording follow what you provide, including any lək̓ʷəŋən place names or acknowledgements your organization uses. Dates for seasonal offers, festival weekends and cruise days come from your own calendar, so a film published in spring is still accurate in autumn.

Preparing your film

Which services do you offer in Victoria?

Eleven services are covered on separate pages below, from product films and short social ads to hotel, property, event and corporate work, and AI ad films for visitor businesses.

Is Victoria too far away for a remote studio?

Distance does not change our process, since everything is built from your material. It matters only when a project needs filming, and then a local crew is the right call.

Can the film include French?

Yes. We can prepare French captions or a French version from translations you supply or approve, alongside the English master.

How do we start?

Tell us what the film should achieve and share the images you already have. We look at them first, then send a proposed treatment with a quote.
