Commercial video production for Halifax
Halifax is a harbour city spread across a regional municipality that takes in Dartmouth, Bedford and the coast beyond. Notlith makes advertising films for businesses here remotely, from the photographs, artwork and references you already have, with creative direction, AI-assisted imagery, editing, colour and sound. There is no crew to book and no location to close, and every film stays faithful to what you actually sell.

One name, several downtowns
Since the amalgamation of 1996, the Halifax Regional Municipality has brought the old city of Halifax together with Dartmouth, Bedford and a long stretch of rural shoreline. For advertisers that means one brand often speaks to quite different places: the peninsula with its dense streets below Citadel Hill, Dartmouth across the water, suburban Bedford and Sackville, and coastal villages an hour's drive away.
We take that into account from the brief. A film for a business on Spring Garden Road may need a different opening line from one aimed at families in Clayton Park, even when the visuals are shared. Tell us where your customers live and how they reach you, and we plan the versions around that rather than around a postcard image of the city.

The harbour shapes the calendar
Halifax Harbour is a working port, a naval base, a ferry route and a summer promenade at once. Its seasons drive much local marketing: patios and cruise visitors from late spring into autumn, conferences and campus life in the cooler months, holiday shopping before the long grey stretch of winter.
Our films are planned with that rhythm in mind. A master edit can carry seasonal versions with different light, copy and end cards, so a summer message does not linger into January. We never generate a harbour view, a landmark or a crowd and present it as filmed by us; local scenery appears only from your rights-cleared images or as a clearly labelled creative mood.

What we make for Halifax businesses
Our work covers product films for Nova Scotia makers, social ads, restaurant and bar films, hotel presentations, property videos, shop and venue films, event promotion, corporate pieces and service promos. Each one starts from your real material: packshots, room photos, plans, renderings, artwork or a few honest phone pictures.
We write the concept and script, fix the look in key frames, then generate, edit, grade and mix. Product details, labels, room layouts and claims are checked against your references at every stage. You review in agreed rounds, and the deliverables, formats and usage terms are set out in the quote.

Where a local camera is the better choice
Notlith has no office or crew in Halifax and does not claim one. When your story depends on a real interview, people at work, a live event or the actual light on your wharf, a local videographer is the right hire. We say so plainly during the first conversation.
Those filmed moments can still be edited into our process later, combined with product sequences, seasonal variants and the vertical and square cutdowns your channels need. English and Canadian French versions can be prepared from the same master when your audience extends beyond Nova Scotia.

Venue films
Welcoming guests? We film your venue too.
Restaurant, hotel, shop or property: from your photos, we make a hybrid film that makes people want to visit.

Working with us from Halifax
Do you work with businesses in Dartmouth and Bedford too?
Yes. We work remotely, so any business in the regional municipality can send its material. We adapt the copy to the areas you actually serve.
Can a film show Citadel Hill or the waterfront?
Only from rights-cleared images you supply, or as an imagined mood clearly labelled as such. We never pass off a generated landmark as footage.
Which time zone do you follow?
Yours. Halifax is on Atlantic Time, and we schedule calls and review deadlines in your local hours.
What should we send first?
A short description of the goal and audience, where the film will run, and the clearest photos you have of the product or place. We assess them before proposing a sequence.
