AI video production in Edinburgh: ad films for distillers, hotels and festival season

Edinburgh's year has a rhythm that advertisers plan around: a quiet spring, an August when the Fringe takes over every venue and pavement, then the long build to Hogmanay. Notlith's AI video production fits that calendar. We create a cinematic commercial from the photographs and references you already hold, handling the idea, script, visual treatment, AI-generated imagery, edit, grade and soundtrack remotely, so the film can be ready before the city gets busy.

A bottle, a room, a reason to look

Much of what Edinburgh sells is made to be looked at closely: a single malt in cut glass, a cashmere scarf, a suite with a view across Princes Street Gardens. The film begins with what makes yours worth a second look, written down as a single idea and a script short enough to survive a scroll.

From there we build a treatment: colour, lighting, framing and pace, chosen from your references and the brand's own history rather than from a generic AI aesthetic. You approve that direction before any image is generated, so the work that follows is guided by a decision you made, not by whatever a model produces on its first attempt.

Truthful by design

A whisky label carries an age statement, a region and a cask finish; none of that is ours to alter. We rebuild the bottle from your high-resolution photographs and compare every frame against them. If a letter softens or the glass shape drifts, the shot is regenerated or replaced with a composite of your original image.

Spirits advertising in the UK also comes with rules on how drinking is portrayed, and we write within them. We will not generate a crowded bar, invented tasters or a Castle backdrop the product was never near. Each synthetic shot is listed for you, and where a viewer might reasonably take an image for filmed reality, we recommend a short AI disclosure.

Versions for visitors and for locals

An Edinburgh campaign often speaks to two audiences at once: residents in Leith or Morningside, and visitors arriving at Waverley who have never heard of you. We cut a widescreen master, then vertical and square edits recomposed for phones and screens, each with titles reset for its frame. A tourist on a phone and a resident at a bus stop read differently.

Visitors bring their own languages, so we can produce caption or voice versions in French, German, Spanish or Mandarin from the same master, reviewed by fluent readers you nominate. If a Scottish Gaelic end card suits the brand, that is possible too. Two review rounds keep the decisions concentrated and the schedule clear of August.

When to hire a crew instead

Some Edinburgh stories belong in front of a real lens: a chef's tasting menu, a performer on a festival stage, a distillery team at work. If authenticity is the whole point, we will recommend a live shoot and explain why, even if that means the job is not ours. A good shoot beats a weak simulation every time.

Our approach is strongest when the hero is a product or a space you can photograph well, and when calendar or budget rules out a studio day. The usage rights for the finished film, including any outdoor or cinema placement, are written into your quote. Nothing about ownership is left to assumption once the work is delivered.

Also for venues

A place to show off? We turn it into a film.

Our films go beyond products: dining room, terrace, suite or office, we showcase your space from your own images.

Plan the details

Can you make an advert for Scotch whisky?

Yes, working within UK alcohol advertising rules and the details on your label. We never alter age statements, regions or cask information, and we avoid scenes that link drinking with social or physical success.

Should we launch before the festival?

If your audience is festival visitors, it usually helps to have the film approved well before August, when screens and attention are in high demand. We plan the schedule backwards from your launch date.

Can the film include Edinburgh scenery?

We do not generate recognisable landmarks as if your product were filmed there. Licensed photography or footage you own can be integrated, kept visually distinct from generated shots.

Is AI suitable for a hotel advert?

For rooms, light and atmosphere built from your own photographs, often yes. We never add views, facilities or guests that do not exist, because the film must match what visitors find.
