Video production company Brisbane: a remote studio, not a local crew

Brisbane has its own crews, editors and studios, and Queensland's screen sector is supported by Screen Queensland. So why work with a remote studio? For some briefs, you should not. For others, the material you already have is enough to build a finished film. Notlith offers hybrid production from client photographs, with creative direction, AI-assisted sequences, editing, colour and sound, and no Brisbane office or crew.

Briefs a Brisbane crew handles better

If the film depends on people speaking, a live performance, a real event or a moment that has to be witnessed, hire a crew who can be there. Interviews in a South Bank office, a festival recap, a documentary on a cattle station: none of these can be built from photographs, and we will not pretend otherwise.

A local production company also brings permits, insurance and knowledge of shooting locations around the river, which matters for anything filmed in public spaces. When a brief needs those things, we say so at the first conversation, before any quote is prepared.

Briefs your photo library can carry

Many Brisbane businesses hold a solid archive: product packshots, interior photography of a showroom in Newstead, renders of a development, approved brand assets. For a launch film, a social campaign or a website hero, that library can be the starting point. We plan the film around what it contains rather than what it lacks.

We begin by sorting the material: what is sharp enough for close-up, what is current, what you hold rights to use. From there we write a short treatment and shot list. Generated motion fills the gaps between your images only where it can stay faithful to them.

Reviews on Queensland time

We work remotely, so feedback happens through shared review links with time-coded comments rather than studio sessions. Queensland's year-round standard time is easy to plan around; we agree review windows that suit your team, including when interstate stakeholders in daylight-saving states need to approve.

Each round has a clear purpose: treatment, first cut, colour and sound, final versions. Collecting comments from marketing, legal and leadership in one place avoids the contradictory notes that slow many projects. The number of rounds is written into the quote.

Combining a local shoot with our edit

Some projects suit a split. A Brisbane photographer captures fresh stills or short clips of your premises or product, then we build the film from that material. You keep control of the local work, and we take on the direction, motion, grade and sound.

If you commission a shoot for this purpose, send us the shot list beforehand so we can flag angles that help later, such as a clean background or a full view before the detail. We do not manage local suppliers or their contracts; those stay between you and them.

Plan the details

Do you have a Brisbane office?

No. Notlith is a remote studio. We do not claim a local office or crew, and we do not travel to film in Brisbane.

What kind of projects suit you?

Product films, social ads, venue and property films, and campaign pieces that can be built from existing photographs, renders and brand assets.

Can you work with our Brisbane photographer?

Yes. If they capture new stills for the project, we can advise on angles beforehand and then build the film from their images.

How is ownership of the finished film handled?

Usage rights, formats and deliverables are set out in the quote before work begins, so both sides know what is included.

Start with your images

Send us a short description of the film you need and a sample of the photographs you hold, and we will tell you honestly whether our method fits.
