Venue and shop video in Reading, beyond the shopping centres

Shopping in central Reading is anchored by The Oracle and Broad Street, yet much of the town's character lives in smaller places: Union Street, the parades of Caversham and Tilehurst, the units around Cemetery Junction, and the halls and studios hired out by the hour. Notlith makes venue and shop videos remotely from your photographs, with direction, AI-assisted motion, editing, colour and sound.

Holding your own next to a big mall

When the shopping centres have the chains, an independent needs to show what cannot be found there: a buyer's selection, a repair service, a fitting, a conversation. A film can open on the counter or the workbench and move outwards to the shelves, using your own photographs. A short sequence of your hands at work can do more than a long pan across the stock.

If your unit is inside The Oracle or Broad Street Mall, we follow the centre's brand and photography rules and keep other tenants out of frame. If you are on a street nearby, the walk from a well-known entrance to your door can be shown with a couple of real photographs.

Union Street and the narrow lanes

Union Street, popularly known as Smelly Alley, shows how a short lane can carry a strong identity. Shops on streets like it, or in the Harris Arcade and around Market Place, often have small frontages that are easy to walk past without noticing. In an arcade, several units share one entrance, so your own sign is the first thing to establish.

A useful film shows the exact doorway, the sign and the first view inside, so a customer recognises it on arrival. We keep the scale of the space honest. A compact shop shown as compact, but well arranged, earns more trust than an invented sense of depth. Directions from Broad Street or Friar Street can appear as one simple caption.

Parades in Caversham, Tilehurst and Earley

Outside the centre, local parades serve residents who walk or drive a short way. For a butcher, bike shop, salon or deli there, the film's job is to say what is new this month and why it deserves a detour from the supermarket. Wokingham Road near Cemetery Junction, Church Street in Caversham and the parades along School Road in Tilehurst all have this kind of trade.

We create a short template in your branding that can be refreshed with new photographs, so the shop can post regularly without a full production each time. Opening hours and prices stay out of the main film and are linked instead. Your logo, colours and a recurring sound cue keep the series recognisable from post to post.

Rooms, studios and halls for hire

Community halls, dance studios, coworking spaces near the station and function rooms above pubs are all marketed to people planning an event or a weekly class. They want to see the layout, the configurations you actually offer, the access and the facilities. Evening slots after office hours and weekend bookings may need separate versions, since the people asking differ.

Each layout is presented from photographs of a real set-up, never a generated arrangement the room could not hold. Accessibility details such as step-free entry or a lift are captioned only once you confirm them. A final frame points to your booking page or enquiry form. Capacity is stated only for configurations your licence and insurance allow.

Plan the details

Can you film inside The Oracle?

We do not film. If you supply photographs taken within the centre's rules, we can build a film from them. Ask management about their image guidelines first.

Our shop is tiny. Is a video worth it?

Often yes. A short film can show the entrance and a few products well. The aim is recognition and a reason to visit, not a sense of size.

Can the video show our windows through the year?

Yes. Seasonal windows photographed each time can be added to the template, giving you a series rather than a one-off.

What should hire spaces send?

Photographs of each layout you offer, the entrance, toilets, kitchen or bar if relevant, parking or transport information and the booking link.
