Notlith · Sunshine Coast
Video production company Sunshine Coast: biosphere operators, surf clubs, Country and the Noosa line
The Sunshine Coast sits inside two UNESCO biosphere reserves, its beaches are patrolled by volunteer surf clubs, its land is the Country of the Kabi Kabi and Jinibara peoples, and since 2014 Noosa has had its own council again. Each shapes what a film can say. Notlith is a remote hybrid studio working from your photographs and references, with creative direction, AI-assisted imagery, editing, colour and sound.

Nature operators inside two biosphere reserves
Noosa was designated a UNESCO biosphere reserve in 2007 and the Sunshine Coast followed in 2022, with Great Sandy to the north. Kayak guides on the Noosa River, hinterland walking tours and eco-certified stays now speak to visitors who check environmental claims.
A film for these operators shows wildlife, water and trails only from their own photographs, because generated animals or landscapes would undermine the claim being made. Biosphere wording is used as the reserves allow it and never implies an endorsement. Statements about impact stay exactly as your certifier or records support.

Surf clubs raising money and members
From Caloundra to Noosa, surf life saving clubs depend on volunteer patrols, Nippers programmes for children, social members and the bistros and function rooms many of them run. Their films ask for very different things: volunteers for the season, sponsors for equipment, diners for a Friday night.
We work from the club's own photographs of patrols, carnivals and rooms, with consent from the families of any child shown. No rescue is staged or generated. One edit can yield a recruitment cut for the start of the season, a sponsor version with logos placed as agreed, and a short venue clip for the bistro.

Working on Kabi Kabi and Jinibara Country
Sunshine Coast Council recognises the Kabi Kabi and Jinibara peoples as Traditional Custodians, and the Federal Court recognised Kabi Kabi native title over a large part of the region in 2024. Businesses, councils and developers increasingly open films with an Acknowledgement of Country or include cultural content.
We never generate Aboriginal people, artworks, symbols or sacred places. Cultural material comes from the Traditional Owner organisations or artists themselves, with their permission and on their terms, and they review the cut. Where that permission is not in place, the film simply leaves cultural imagery out rather than imitating it.

Noosa or Sunshine Coast on the end card
Noosa left the amalgamated council and became a separate shire again on 1 January 2014, and it has its own tourism body and planning rules. A business with outlets in Noosaville and Maroochydore, or a product sold in both, has to decide which name, which events and which local rules each version carries.
We plan those versions from the start: shared footage, separate place names, separate event dates and, where relevant, separate council or tourism partner logos with permission. That keeps a Noosa audience from seeing a Sunshine Coast label it rejects, and the reverse, without paying twice for the core edit.

Plan the details
Can we mention the biosphere in our film?
Yes, as a fact about where you operate. Check any logo or programme wording with the relevant reserve body, and we will place it exactly as they approve.
Can a surf club film show children in Nippers?
Only from photographs taken with parental consent that the club holds. We can blur or remove any child whose consent is not confirmed.
Will you write an Acknowledgement of Country for us?
No. The wording should come from you, ideally after consulting the Traditional Owner organisation. We set it on screen exactly as you provide it.
Do you film on the beaches or in the hinterland?
No. We have no crew on the Coast. If the brief needs live footage, a local camera operator records it and we edit their material.
