Corporate film in Swansea: copper-era roots, research labs and shift work
Some Swansea organisations can trace their story back to the smelting works of the Lower Swansea Valley; others were founded last year in a university building. Notlith makes company films for both, remotely, from the photographs, archive images and documents you already hold. We bring creative direction, AI-assisted motion, editing, colour and sound, and we keep every claim tied to something your organisation can show.
Remote production · From your photos

Archive photographs from the Copperopolis years
In the nineteenth century Swansea was a centre of copper smelting, nicknamed Copperopolis, and some local firms, chapels and families may still hold photographs from that period or the tinplate and engineering decades that followed. An anniversary film can use those prints as prints: framed, scanned at full resolution, with a gentle move rather than a generated reconstruction.
We never colourise a face or invent a workforce that the archive does not show. Where your own collection is thin, the county archive service and the National Waterfront Museum are places to ask about licensed images; we build the sequence around whatever you are cleared to use and date each picture on screen.
Explaining a spin-out between Singleton and the Bay Campus
Swansea University has two campuses on the bay, Singleton Park and the Bay Campus near Jersey Marine, and companies grow out of both. A film for investors, partners or grant panels has to make a technical idea understandable without overstating it. We usually start from one diagram, one prototype photograph and a sentence your founders can say aloud in a meeting.
Results, trials and patents appear only in the wording you approve, with dates. If the work involves clinical partners, such as the hospitals run by Swansea Bay University Health Board, we show your premises and equipment and leave the hospital out unless you hold written permission to name it.

Recruiting people who work shifts, not desks
If your vacancies around Morriston, Llansamlet or the Swansea Enterprise Park are in care, logistics, manufacturing or public service, the working day probably starts at a depot door or a handover. A recruitment film for those roles should show the real shift pattern, the training on offer and the people a new starter will meet, in that order.
Staff appear only from photographs they have agreed to, and we do not generate colleagues, patients or service users to fill a frame. A short version for job boards and a longer one for induction can share the same sequence, with the shift details changed in captions rather than re-edited.
One employer across the Swansea Bay City Region
An organisation based in Swansea may also run sites in Neath Port Talbot, Carmarthenshire or Pembrokeshire, the other areas of the Swansea Bay City Region. The film should say exactly where people would work, because a candidate in Llanelli and one in Gorseinon are weighing very different journeys.
We map each site you name to its own photographs and captions, and we spell Welsh place names exactly, Treforys as well as Morriston if you use both. A Welsh-language version is scoped in the quote and checked by a speaker you nominate.

Plan the details
Can we use photographs from our company archive?
Yes. Send scans at the highest resolution you have and tell us what each one shows and when it was taken. We animate them as photographs and never invent people or buildings around them.
Can a spin-out film show our lab?
If you can share photographs of your own space and equipment, yes. We avoid showing university or hospital facilities unless you confirm you are allowed to use those images.
Do you film interviews with our staff?
No, we have no crew. If you record a short interview yourselves on a phone or with a local videographer, we can edit it into the film alongside your photographs.
Can the film cover several sites?
Yes, provided each site has its own photographs. We label every location on screen so viewers know which address they are looking at.
