AI video production in Muscat: fragrance films rooted in Omani scent

Scent carries weight in Muscat, from the frankincense stalls of Mutrah Souq to the perfume houses whose bottles travel far beyond Oman. Notlith creates advertising films for fragrance brands from their own packshots and references, without a crew or a location shoot. We take care of the concept, script, AI-assisted imagery, editing, grade and sound, and every bottle, cap and label stays exactly as it leaves the workshop.

Translating a smell into pictures

A film cannot carry a scent, so it has to carry a memory. For an Omani fragrance that might be resin smoke rising in a quiet majlis, the cool of a mountain morning in the Hajar, or a frankincense tree standing alone in the Dhofar light. We choose one image that holds the composition of the perfume and write the whole advertisement around it.

The script describes each shot, the music and any spoken line. We then share still frames that fix the palette, the texture of light and the framing of the bottle. The perfumer and the brand team can judge whether the mood matches the notes in the bottle long before motion is generated, which keeps later changes small.

The bottle is sacred, the world around it is imagined

Glass, liquid and metal are where generative models slip. A faceted cap loses an edge, engraved Arabic lettering turns into shapes that look like script but say nothing, the juice changes colour. We check every frame against your packshots and redo or composite anything that departs from them. Brand names and calligraphy are set as real typography, never generated.

The settings around the bottle are invented, and we say so. We do not recreate the Royal Opera House, the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque or any heritage site as if the brand had filmed there. Sacred places are left out entirely. People appear as anonymous figures, never as customers describing the fragrance, and no ingredient is claimed unless your formula contains it.

Seasons that matter for a perfume house

Ramadan and Eid are central moments for gifting in Oman, and a fragrance film for them should feel generous and composed rather than loud. The cooler months bring visitors to Muscat and a busier retail season. National Day in November invites heritage themes. We plan these as variants of one master so the visual signature holds through the year.

Every master is delivered in 16:9 for YouTube and boutique screens, 9:16 for Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok, and 1:1 for paid placements and e-commerce. The Arabic copy is written as the original for Omani readers, and the English version is adapted for visitors and regional customers. Both are checked by native speakers before delivery, including the name of the fragrance.

What we need from you, and where a camera wins

Send high-resolution packshots of the bottle and box from several angles, close-ups of the cap and engraving, the colour of the liquid in daylight, a note on the olfactory pyramid and your brand guidelines. Reviews take place in agreed rounds. The finished film carries an AI disclosure, and the usage rights are set out in the quote.

If the story of your house is the hands of a perfumer blending oils, or a real frankincense harvest you have permission to show, filming it for real will be more truthful. We will recommend that when it applies. A hybrid film can then join those real moments with a generated world built around the bottle.

Plan the details

Can you reproduce Arabic calligraphy on the bottle?

We place your logo and calligraphy as vector graphics or from your own photos, never as generated lettering. Generated Arabic script is often illegible, so we keep it out of the image entirely.

Will the film show frankincense trees in Dhofar?

Only as an imagined landscape inspired by the region, clearly part of a fictional world, unless you provide real footage. We avoid implying a specific origin or harvest that we cannot confirm.

Do you deliver a version for duty-free and hotel screens?

Yes. We can prepare a silent version with on-screen text, timed for viewers walking past, in Arabic and English. The formats and placements are agreed in the brief.

Are review rounds limited?

The number of rounds is set in the quote. Most of the conversation happens at script and look-frame stage, where changes are easiest to make.
