AI video production in Sydney: swimwear films for the start of the swim season

Notlith makes advertising films for Sydney swimwear labels launching a collection before summer. We work from your flat lays, print files, fabric close-ups and existing campaign photography, write the film, use AI to build light, water and movement around the garments, and finish the edit, grade, music and sound remotely. Prints, cuts and colours stay exactly as sold, and nobody on screen is an invented model presented as real.

A collection that lands as the water warms

A swimwear collection is often sold to stockists months ahead, then launched to customers in spring, when the water starts to warm and beaches and ocean pools fill up again, with a second push before Christmas. The film has to work at both ends: a polished collection piece for launch day, then shorter edits that keep individual styles selling through the January holidays, from Bondi and Coogee to Cronulla and the Northern Beaches.

We write the launch film around one idea that belongs to the collection: a print drawn from rock pools, a colour story taken from harbour light at dusk, a cut designed for ocean swimming rather than lounging. Everything in the film serves that idea, so the range reads as a whole before each piece gets its own moment.

Print repeat and fabric sheen, checked against the swatch

Swimwear is unforgiving on screen. A print scaled slightly wrong breaks across a seam differently, an elastane blend looks matte or glossy depending on the light, and a colour deepens once wet. We build each garment from your flat lays and fabric close-ups, keep the repeat and placement of the print as manufactured, and grade wet and dry looks against your own photographs.

Claims follow your test reports. A UPF rating appears only if the fabric has been tested to the Australian and New Zealand standard for sun protective clothing and you hold the result. Chlorine resistance, recycled content and shape retention follow the same rule, quoted as your labels state them. Sustainability lines in particular are kept to what you can document.

Bodies are not generated to sell the fit

Customers judge swimwear by imagining it on their own body, which makes a generated figure misleading: it can show a fit that no real person gets from that cut. We do not create synthetic models wearing your pieces. Where people are needed, we use your existing campaign photography of real models, moved with restraint and within the scope of their release, or keep figures distant and partial.

Your size range is shown rather than claimed: if styles run across many sizes, the film uses your own photos across that range instead of a single sample size. When a style's selling point is how it holds through a duck dive or a set of waves, we recommend filming that sequence for real and grading it into the rest of the film.

December swims and the January sale

After launch, the film keeps working through the Christmas break and the January sale. The master is delivered in 16:9 for your website, with vertical edits per style for social and square cuts for stockists that accept video on product pages. We recompose each frame so a print is never cut through the middle of a motif, and price lines are added per version, never baked into the master.

AI handles the settings: an ocean pool at first light, sandstone ledges, a shaded corner of a rooftop deck. We do not generate recognisable places such as the Bondi Icebergs pool or the Opera House, which belong to their owners and would imply a link. Reviews take place at script, animatic and final grade, and usage rights per channel are set out in the quote.

Plan the details

Can you use our existing campaign photos of real models?

Yes, if the model release covers moving images and online advertising. We animate those photos lightly, never altering body shape, and you confirm the use with the model or agency before production.

Will the print look the same as the garment?

We work from your print files and fabric photos, check repeat and placement on every shot, and grade against your swatches. Any frame where a motif drifts is regenerated or removed.

Can the film mention UPF 50+?

Only if the fabric holds a test result supporting that rating under the Australian and New Zealand standard and your labelling already states it. We use your exact wording.

Can the film show a specific Sydney beach?

A recognisable beach or pool should come from real photos you hold rights to. Otherwise we build a generic coastal setting with sandstone, surf and ocean pools, without naming a place.
