The project in detail
A Nantes concept: A fictional Nantes B2B service.
Your film
Not every company needs an institutional documentary. If the goal is to explain an offer or launch a product, we can start with real images, write a focused advertising story and finish the landscape film without a location shoot.
Local context and uses
Creative and digital activity on the Île de Nantes sits alongside food brands, Muscadet producers, hospitality and professional services. An English-facing film could introduce a local offer to buyers who do not yet know the business, using recognisable assets rather than vague city shots.
The municipality had 327,734 residents in the 2023 Insee reference population. This is population context, not a count of potential clients.
Software and services. Start with actual interface captures and a single audience problem.
Products. Keep the bottle, packaging or object exactly as photographed.
Venues. Tell the atmosphere of a restaurant or hotel with cleared images of its spaces.
Story ideas
- A software launch places genuine screens in a late-afternoon office scene beside the Loire.
- A Muscadet bottle is shown from the real vineyard photograph to a table setting, without redesigning its label.
The method
We serve clients in Nantes entirely remotely. Send at least 10 real photographs and, if useful, an optional PDF. If you have fewer images, request a tailored quote. We agree the scenario before producing the shots. Our hybrid production shapes those shots from your images; we then handle editing and colour grading.
The films shown here use a 16:9 landscape frame. Delivery format is selected in the quote. No filming or on-site visit is included.
What the service does not cover
Notlith makes films exclusively from photographs, screenshots and documents supplied by the client. We do not film interviews, events or work processes on location.
An institutional film without a person on camera
A company presentation can follow a place, an object, a service and a final signature. Voice-over may connect those elements, but it cannot be passed off as an employee's testimony. When trust depends on hearing a real person, choose a filmed interview. We do not generate staff, satisfied customers or fictional archive footage to fill that gap.
The Armchair demonstration shows how material and editing can suggest craft. It remains an invented brand concept. A polished result must still distinguish illustration from documentary evidence.
Thinking in a sequence rather than a catalogue
A venue film can guide a future visitor from an appealing detail into a room and towards a reason to stay. An hotel or restaurant supplies the real spaces for that journey. Nantes's cultural setting does not authorise commercial use of artworks or attractions without a rights review.
For a manufacturer, the sequence may follow material, finish and use. For a software publisher, it may follow opening, choosing and confirming. These stories have different requirements: accurate object details for one, coherent interfaces and fictional demonstration data for the other.
Writing the voice for a defined audience
Decide whether the film addresses partners, customers or potential recruits. Separate what the images can establish from what needs explanation, then keep each scene focused. The service film can explain a proposition; the app film can explain an interaction. Language versions, voice rights and shorter edits belong in the quote. An event or seasonal deadline must be stated in the brief, not assumed to be guaranteed.
A documented local reference
An educational guide from the Académie de Nantes presents Voyage à Nantes as an urban art route. It informs the idea of visual progression without granting commercial rights to the artworks. Reference checked on 30 September 2026.
Local questions
What is an institutional film without interviews?
A narrative built from an organisation's places, objects and information, possibly guided by voice-over, without pretending to record real testimony.
Can you generate our employees on screen?
We do not create fictional staff or testimony for the film. Choose real filming when the people are essential.
Can Voyage à Nantes artworks illustrate a campaign?
Their use would require an appropriate rights check. They are not automatically reused as commercial scenery.
Where should an industrial business start?
An object, authorised manufacturing details and verifiable information can structure the story, without simulating an exact technical demonstration.
Is voice-over enough to create a brand film?
It helps only when the imagery, audience and central idea are defined. Words should support the story rather than fill every silence.
